Land Life

I think firstly we need to change the name of our blog page as it is no more "Cowleys at Sea" as I am back here in the UK and Paul is out there by himself......but what should we name it instead?

Life back in the UK......well it's hard to give a verdict as yet as it's not really been long enough. I've just started working in a small hotel in reception which is going well so far. Very different to working on the pursers desk on the ships - so much less stressful which is the best thing about it. And when I finish work I can leave and go home - and not have to worry about being disturbed or called back in to work.

I haven't made the most of being home yet to visit my dearest friends more but that's down to me being very lazy and tired from early starts at work - my darling husband says I'm getting old......no - my body and mind are just adjusting ok.....

So far things are going well though. Living with my parents again isn't so hard - they're great. We'll see if I'm still feeling the same in a few months though. As for Paul being away, well of course it's hard. I miss him like crazy but we email and talk often. It will be September before we know it and I will be going out to visit him :) I'm already counting down - will be fun cruising and not having to work. I'm sure Paul won't be so amused as he will be working but he'll get his own back when he comes home as I'll be the one working then while he's chillin in our own new place.......

Anyway, that's about it from me. Nothing exciting to tell. There's only so much that can happen in Fort William.

The Visitors, Thanks to Heather, Keath and Jack for letting us invade their home for a week. They looked after us so well. Fed us top notch and were always trying to put a drink in our hand. They couldnt have been any better!

Some of the views were stunning, even if the weather was not always the very best

Another skiing sideline. Bowling night and a victory and a high score for me. Very happy, I usually suck

Poker night, the glasses came out and the bluffs came on at full force. The drink helped with my lack of ability to lie well!

A well needed rest. Last time I snowboarded I was 24. being 31 made a hell of a difference! By the end of the week I had 8 large brusies all over my legs

On the way home, long journey as always but nothing finer than traveling home after a long contract. Shit flight though. I can never sleep on planes. Long legs and small space mean 7 hours of pain

End of Contract - Time for a break

We signed off the Grandeur after a long but successful contract. We came back and went straight off to France for a snowboarding family holiday. Great time had by all. Now its chill out time until the next contract. Don't know when then will be yet or where but should know in the next few weeks. The big thing is that Claire wont be coming back next contract. She's had enough of ships now after seven years and is going to become a land lover again. So next contract it will be all on me. Hopefully it will still go as well as this one
